Sergio Aguero has been missed by Manchester City, but the club and its supporters will be buoyed by the striker's latest tweet.
The Argentina international took to his official Twitter account to let his followers know that he has begun work on the training pitch, and will be back in action for the first team 'at the right moment'.
I wanted you to know I've already started field work. Slowly but surely I'll be back at the right moment. Thanks for the wishes!— Sergio Kun Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) January 5, 2015
The 26-year-old has been missing since he damaged knee ligaments in City's 1-0 win over Everton on December 6th. Manuel Pellegrini's side have won six of the seven fixtures Aguero has been missing for, but it's been far from plain sailing for the Citizens.
Just a week after Aguero was ruled out until mid-January, his striking teammate Edin Dzeko fell injured meaning City have had to use utility man James Milner in attack.
Prior to his injury, Aguero was arguably in the best form of his life with 14 goals and three assists in 15 Premier League games.
Considering their remaining three January fixtures include both Arsenal and Chelsea, City will be desperate to get Aguero back on the pitch as soon as possible.
