Yeovil Town 0-2 Manchester United - Herrera and Di Maria send United through

Yeovil Flag at Wembley playoff

Manchester United avoided an FA Cup giantkilling, comfortably beating League One side Yeovil 2-0.

Manchester United faced a potential banana skin as they traveled down to Somerset to face League One strugglers Yeovil Town.

United were hammered 4-0 by League One opposition earlier this season, but Yeovil were a much different proposition to MK Dons.

The Glovers had won just two of their last ten league games, but were 'up for the cup' as United went down to Huish Park for a tricky encounter.

After a goalless first half, United fans were becoming slightly edgy, but their fears were laid to rest when summer signing Ander Herrera swiveled and sent a stunning shot into the top corner of the net.

United wrapped up the win in the dying seconds as another summer arrival, Angel Di Maria, raced through to dink the ball over the onrushing Jed Steer and into the net.

United move on into the fourth round as they chase their first FA Cup title success since 2004, whilst Yeovil are left to focus on the league, where they are bottom of League One.
