The Argentinian scored the opening goal for his side in a 2-2 draw with Elche on Saturday.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto over the last number of weeks, with Arsenal’s name also being thrown in the mix as a potential suitor at the end of last week.
The Argentinian showed the Premier League sides just what they are missing by continuing his strong goalscoring form in Spain with another strike yesterday.
With Villarreal back in La Liga action after the mid-season break, it only took Vietto 12 minutes to open the scoring, slotting home from close range as can be seen here.
The 21-year-old has now scored eight goals in only nine starts for the El Madrigal outfit, with no wonder that the South American’s stock continues to rise.
Villarreal only signed Vietto in the summer, paying Argentina’s Racing Club around €6 million for his signature.
However, reports in Spain have stated that Vietto could well be prised away from Villarreal for a fee in the region of £12 million.
The former Argentina under-20’s international is seemingly fitting into life in Europe with aplomb and if he continues to find the back of the net in Spain interest in the striker will only increase.
