Fernando Torres has re-joined his boyhood club Atletico Madrid on loan from AC Milan.
This summer Chelsea finally gave up on the services of Fernando Torres. The Spaniard cost them £50 million in a move from Liverpool but he was loaned out to AC Milan in the summer.
However his time at Milan did not go as well as he would have hoped either.
Torres failed to make an impact with the Rossoneri and struggled for regular first-team football for the side.
The Chelsea flop was subsequently sold to Milan on a permanent deal last week and he was swiftly loaned out to former club Atletico Madrid, with Alessio Cerci going in the opposite direction.
For Torres it is of course a return to his boyhood club. Back then he was known as 'El Nino' and was named captain of Los Colchoneros as a teenager. He scored 91 goals in 244 appearances for the side before making the switch to Liverpool.
And those years are not forgotten at the Vicente Calderon. An incredible 40,000 fans turned up to watch Torres being officially unveiled to the media and fans this afternoon...
