PHOTO: Manchester United star meets music god Ian Brown before Yeovil game

Michael Carrick bumped into a famous Mancunian this morning.

Manchester United faced Yeovil Town in the FA Cup today, and two goals eventually did the job for the Premier League side.

They toiled at times until Ander Herrera smashed in a half volley on the swivel and Angel Di Maria topped things off with a delectable chip late on.

But with plenty of reason to believe this should be a walk in the park Louis van Gaal gave a few players the day off.

The likes of Phil Jones, Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick wee not present - and were also not made to travel all the way to south Somerset to watch the game.

Instead they were allowed to watch the game from their homes, which is what Carrick did. But earlier in the day he was on a wander around Manchester when he bumped into another Manc legend, of a different genre.

Ian Brown of The Stone Roses!

Not a bad day for Carrick then, meeting a music god and watching his team win in the FA Cup. Super sunday.
