Liverpool’s Harry Wilson scores twice in 6-5 victory

Harry Wilson continued to prove his effectiveness in front of goal for Liverpool's academy side at the weekend.

Liverpool’s under-18 side had a match to remember in their opening game of the Frenz International Cup on Saturday.

The young Reds side ultimately won an eventful encounter 6-5, despite initially going 2-0 down to opponents Frenz United Indonesia.

In the end, Liverpool’s Harry Wilson and Toni Gomes both scored braces while Callum Nicholas and Adam Phillips also got on the score-sheet.

Wilson has been tipped to have a very bright future at Anfield, with the 17-year-old recently revealing that his ultimate dream in football is to lift the Ballon d’Or.

The youngest player ever to represent Wales at senior level, Wilson is a left-winger with an eye for goal, as his brace on Saturday proved.

He is yet to make his senior debut for the Reds but there is every chance he could follow Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe into the side and dazzle despite his tenders years.

Now may not be the best time for Brendan Rodgers to blood yet another youngster, but expect to see Wilson get his chance some time in 2015.
