Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has predicted Tottenham Hotspur to lose to Burnley in the FA Cup on Monday.
North London outfit Spurs will head into the third-round tie at Turf Moor as favourites, but Lawrenson believes that the hosts will get the better of them 2-1.
“Burnley have been great in their last three games but they have only two points to show for it,” the 57-year-old told BBC Sport. “Harry Kane has been brilliant for Tottenham of late, and their away form has been very strong.
“But I just wonder if Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will make a few changes. The FA Cup was not one of his priorities when he was in charge of Southampton last season.”
Lawrenson does have a point about Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino making changes to the team, but even then the visitors should be considered favourites.
Burnley have started to pick up some form in recent weeks, but they will have to be at their best to win against Tottenham.
Manager Sean Dyche will need to play his best available players against Tottenham, and they probably need to score first, too.
Despite the predicted changes, Tottenham will not take the game lightly and will want to maintain their unbeaten run.
