Arsenal legend Ian Wright tweets Lukas Podolski: 'Sorry to see you go'

Lukas Podolski Pre FA Cup Press Conference

The former Gunners striker has wished the German luck at new club Inter.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright is sorry to see Lukas Podolski leave the Gunners for Inter Milan.

The former Arsenal striker took to Twitter to wish the German luck at his new club and has always been a general fan of the 29-year-old forward.

Podolski fell out of favour at the Emirates Stadium, with his playing style offering Arsene Wenger little except the odd clinical - or mainly powerful - shot from distance.

Some, however, feel the German should have been given more of a chance recently in north London. Wright, meanwhile, appears sad to see the striker go to Serie A.

After leaving Arsenal, Podolski posted - as he so often does - a message to fans on Instagram, saying:

"I can't express in words my gratitude towards Arsenal fans for all they have done for me in my years in London! Please know my heart always holds a place for you.

"I've loved every minute playing for Arsenal & I hope I have left my mark on the club & fans alike. Hopefully we shall meet again!"
