Andros Townsend has said that Tottenham Hotspur have a squad strong enough to compete in four different competitions this season.
Spurs are currently fighting on four fronts and can realistically win three major titles this campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently fifth in the Premier League and have a good chance of finishing in the top four.
Tottenham have also reached the semi-finals of the League Cup and the round of 32 of the Europa League, and will kick off their FA Cup campaign with a visit to Burnley on Monday.
Townsend, who has been at Spurs his entire career, is looking forward to Monday’s third-round tie and is confident of a successful second half of the season.
“We’ve got great confidence from our league form in recent weeks,” the 23-year-old told The Daily Mail. “Everyone wants that to continue.
"The Christmas period is a tough time anyway but to play Manchester United and Chelsea back-to-back is extremely difficult. So we will take heart from that going into our next game.
“We have a big squad. We have seen this season we have rotated in the Europa League and Capital One Cup competitions. We have a squad who can challenge in four competitions in on four fronts.”
Townsend’s comment about having a squad that can challenge in four competitions is quite bold and ambitious, but Tottenham do indeed have options in all departments.
True, some of the players are still struggling to reach their best form and some are inconsistent, but Pochettino does have a squad large enough to accommodate for injuries and busy schedule.
