Tottenham Hotspur face competition from Stoke City for Paul-Georges Ntep - report

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Rennes attacker Paul-Georges Ntep, but Stoke City are also believed to be keen on the youngster.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reignited their interest in Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep after giving up on signing West Bromwich Albion youngster Saido Berahino.

According to The Daily Star, Spurs have “cooled their interest” in Berahino and “are instead switching their focus back” to Ntep.

Last month The Sunday People reported that the North London club are interested in the 22-year-old, who has scored six goals and created 30 chances in 18 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.

The Daily Star has now claimed that Tottenham face competition for the youngster, who is also on the radar of fellow Premier League outfit Stoke City.

The report further stated that Ntep “will only join a 'top six' club in England and is keen to hear what Spurs have to offer”.

If Tottenham are truly interested and Stoke are their competitors, then it is safe to say that they will win the race for the Rennes attacker.

Spurs are a top-six club and could well finish in the Champions League places this season, and they certainly have a better pull than Stoke.
