‘Tony Pulis is a big character’ - West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is reportedly on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has said that he is looking forward to working with new manager Tony Pulis.

The 21-year-old made the comments following the Baggies’ 7-0 victory over Gateshead in the third round of the FA Cup this evening.

Berahino, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the January transfer window, scored four goals in the win at The Hawthorns.

"Gateshead started really bright in the first 20 minutes and passed really well, tried to play, but once we scored the first, we were confident we could get more,” the youngster told BBC Sport. “We wanted to kill the game off as soon as possible.

"Tony Pulis is a big character and has put his stamp on the club already, you could see that the lads were getting stuck in for him today and it is great to see us get seven goals for him today.”

Berahino seems determined to do his best for West Brom and make a positive impression on the newly-appointed Pulis, which means that a move away from the Premier League club is not on his mind.

There have been reports that West Brom are open to selling the talented striker and will enter talks if offered a transfer fee of £20 million, but Berahino’s performance in the last two matches could convince them to keep hold of him for until the end of the season at least.
