For many weeks now Lukas Podolski has made it clear that he was not happy with the way things were going for him at Arsenal. The German World Cup winner could not buy a game for the team despite impressing when he did feature and has been openly discussing a potential exit in the last month or so.
A player of his quality should certainly not be sitting on the bench and he won't be, as he is set to be a star at Italian side Inter Milan.
He arrived in the Italian city last night before undergoing a medical this morning and the deal, believed to be a season long loan deal, is now done.
Of course it means that Podolski, who remains a fan favourite at Arsenal, will be working under the tutelage of former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
The Italian recently came back to the team he managed between 2004 and 2008 and is now tasked with takxing them back to the glory days they experienced under his and Jose Mourinho's guidance, with Podolski now a part of that project.
And Mancini also happens to be one of the rare football managers who have an active official Twitter account - which he used to welcome the Arsenal player to the Nerazzurri earlier today...
