Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose is not underestimating Burnley.
Spurs will face fellow Premier League outfit Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup at Turf Moor on Monday.
Even if manager Mauricio Pochettino makes changes to his Tottenham side, the North London club should be considered favourites.
However, left-back Rose is not counting the chickens before they hatch and told the club’s official website: “It will be tough at Turf Moor, for any team to score twice against City at the Etihad has to be taken seriously. It’s going to be a difficult game for us and we’ll prepare thoroughly for it.”
Rose was referring to Burnley’s stunning comeback against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.
Sean Dyche’s side came from two goals down to hold defending English champions City to a 2-2 draw in the Premier League clash.
Then on New Year’s Day, Burnley once again staged a comeback to hold Newcastle United to a 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park.
Burnley are looking confident at the moment and Rose is right to be wary of them, but the Englishman has confidence in his team to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
"I’d like to think it’s exciting times for us,” said the 24-year-old. “We’ve an FA Cup tie at Burnley on Monday, Palace and then there’s the prospect of going to Wembley (to play Sheffield United over two legs in the League Cup semi-finals).
"Everyone is looking forward to that but it’s one game at a time and that’s Burnley on Monday.”
Tottenham themselves are on a high and will head into Monday’s game on the back of a sensational 5-3 victory over Chelsea at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
