Darren Bent is delighted to have moved to Derby County on loan from Aston Villa.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker joined the Championship club for the rest of the season after being deemed surplus to requirements at Villa Park.
“I am delighted to be here,” the 30-year-old told Derby’s official website. “Derby are flying this season, they have good players, a good squad, a good head coach and this is a great move for me.
“With Derby, though, we are talking about a team that is fighting for the Championship title and looking to get promoted. They play really, really good attacking football and the head coach played a big part in me coming here.
“I worked with Steve when we was at England and I sat down and had the conversation with him and from that, I knew I wanted to come here.”
Derby are currently third in the Championship table with 45 points from 24 matches, just two points behind second-placed Ipswich Town.
