Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has revealed that his main priority in 2015 is to remain fit.
The 21-year-old has struggled with injuries since his move to the Gunners on a free transfer in the summer of 2013.
“I have three wishes for 2015: staying fit, staying fit, staying fit! That’s all I ask for,” Sanogo told Arsenal’s matchday programme. “Then I want to play more and to continue to improve, but staying fit is what I need.
“Being injured is frustrating - it would be for anyone. It feels that I can never express myself fully because I am not totally 100% fit. Little by little, I’m getting there.”
Sanogo was speaking ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round tie against Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The France Under-21 international is available for the match, and he will certainly want to start and show manager Arsene Wenger what he can do.
In recent days, there have been reports that Sanogo could be sent out on loan for the second half of the season. The youngster has struggled for playing time this campaign, and his progress and development at Arsenal has been rather stunted.
