Who were the Premier League's losers over Christmas and New Year?

West Brom

Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers all feature.

The Christmas and New Year period represented a chance for teams at the top and bottom of the Premier League to improve their positions. However, not all sides were able to take advantage.

We’ve taken a look at some of the sides that missed out over the past seven days.

Jose Mourinho’s side played well on Boxing Day to beat West Ham 2-0, but they couldn’t back that up dropping points against Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, conceding six goals in two games.

Manchester United

Perhaps a little harsh to call United one of the losers considering they didn’t lose a game, but the pack have closed on them in the top four race with Southampton one point behind and Tottenham three adrift.

Three games and three defeats says it all. Roberto Martinez’s team have dropped down to 15th place in the table.

West Bromwich Albion

One point from a possible nine has given new boss Tony Pulis a huge challenge looking ahead to the rest of the Baggies’ New Year fixtures. However, the point away at West Ham put an end to the losing streak.

Queens Park Rangers

QPR had started to pull away from the relegation places but they had a similar record to West Brom through the holiday games, taking just two points from a possible nine as they slipped down to 16th.
