Italian newspaper GdS claims Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski could be in Milan today to discuss a move to Roberto Mancini’s Inter.
The German has struggled for game time under Arsene Wenger this season, seeing his status at the Gunners dwindle over the past couple of campaigns.
Wenger has been very belligerent with questions regarding Podolski’s future, maintain that he has a place at the North London club, but GdS believe he’s very close to a move to the Serie A giants.
Podolski is behind several players in the pecking order of the Arsenal attack, but the timing of this move if he is going to fly to Italy today is a little strange.
Arsenal take on Hull City in the FA Cup this Sunday in a repeat of last season’s final and with Wenger likely to rest one or two players, Podolski could come into the side.
However, if the German has made his mind up, then football is marked by several examples of players taking matters into their own hands during a transfer window to try and force a move.
