Tottenham Hotspur have spent plenty of money on strikers in the past few seasons. However despite shelling out on Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado at the moment it is the home-grown Harry Kane who is leading the line for Tottenham.
But while Soldado remains present and is trying his best to force Mauricio Pochettino's decision making process Adebayor has not been in the frame for a while now.
The Togolese international striker is undoubtedly a talented front-man but in his career has also struggled to maintain a long-term presence at any team because of his often spiky personality.
His contract runs out at the end of the season so Tottenham are ready to let him go, perhaps in January, but noit many teams are clamouring to sign a player who, for all intent and purposes, is more trouble than he is worth.
But reports in Italy are now suggesting that Torino are ready to make a move for the player.
TMW report that the Serie A outfit are ready to launch an ambitious move for the striker. Adebayor is being lined up as an alternative to Amauri and Fabio Quagliarella at the club, with a potential loan deal until the end of the season being mooted.
One major stumbling block will be his wages. He is said to be on around £100k-a-week at Spurs, a fee that Torino will not be able to meet. However, if Adebayor can agree to a wage-cut of sorts than Torino could be a viable option for the out of favour striker.
