A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.
Manuel Pellegrini has played down the subject of Frank Lampard’s long term future.
“Frank Lampard will stay now with us until the end of the season. In the month of May, you can start thinking about what will happen in the future,” said the Chilean.
Pellegrini has also struggled to explain the recent inconsistency in his team’s results.
City have conceded a higher than average number of goals in recent games against Burnley and Sunderland.
“We scored two beautiful goals with great movement but after that it is difficult to understand,” said the boss after the game against Sunderland yesterday.
Wilfried Bony has played down the idea he could link up with Manchester City this month.
The Premier League’s top scorer for 2014 has suggested that the rumours over a move to City are just part of the game.
“No, I just know that this is football. If something happens, we can deal with that, but for now I'm just focusing on the Africa Cup of Nations,” said the striker.
