The FA Cup is a welcome breather for Leeds United to distract themselves from their dismal Championship form.
The pressure will be off away to Premier League also-rans Sunderland, who will be expected to win at the Stadium of Light, but Leeds still have a chance.
A positive result for Leeds would restore confidence ahead of their upcoming Championship games, much-needed after going through December picking up only one point.
It is also the perfect time to rotate the squad, rest certain players - and give opportunities to others.
One who simply has to be given a chance is Brian Montenegro, the Paraguayan brought in on loan in the summer transfer window who has yet to be handed a start.
He has however been in outstanding form for the under-21 side, scoring seven goals in his last eight games.
Montenegro is able to play up front or out wide, and by now deserves an opportunity to show what he can do in the first team.
If he produces against Premier League opposition, then there will be even more reason for Neil Redfearn to have to find a way to further integrate him into the first team.
Having signed him on loan, Leeds need to find out what they have with Montenegro, and in the under-21s he can't do much more - and this is the perfect time to get him involved and give the club a boost.
