Nicola Salerno picks Mario Balotelli as the worst buy of the summer.
Poor Mario Balotelli can't catch a break, with the striker being written off from all angles.
The Italian international's poor start to the season at Liverpool has been rounded upon by the sporting director of Championship side Leeds.
Nicola Salerno told TMW he felt the £16 million striker was the flop of the season:
"Mario Balotelli. He has quality, but he has not expressed it."
Lately the striker has been out with injury, but he has the unfortunate record of picking up more FA charges than he has Premier League goals.
Balotelli is even subject of debate as to whether he could return to Italy during the transfer window.
Leeds director Salerno has himself enjoyed mixed success with new additions. There are a number of question marks over the players he has brought into the club, with the side sitting one point above the drop zone in the Championship after going through December picking up only one point.
