Tottenham latest, Lennon departure likely, reflections on huge Chelsea win

Aaron Lennon

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Aaron Lennon looks to be on his way out of the club this January with the winger reportedly available for £7 million.

Mauricio Pochettino appears to be having something of a clear out at White Hart Lane, and Lennon may be the first player out of the door. Stoke City have reportedly made a bid for Lennon, while Southampton are reportedly interested. The 27-year-old has only made six appearances this season.

Tottenham are on a high following yesterday's 5-3 win over Chelsea at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

There has been a lot of praise for striker Harry Kane who was involved in a lot of the action, which included the forward getting on the scoresheet twice.

Goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been singing his praises, and said the whole team will do well if everybody does their job.

He told TalkSport: “Harry is an outstanding talent. He’s one of the best finishers I’ve ever played with. It’s time for him to focus and keep learning, keep his feet on the ground, and understand it’s a team sport.

“We’ll get a lot of success if the team does everything that is asked of them. You do need someone to put the ball in the back of the net though and he can certainly do that for us.”

Defender Federico Fazio was full of praise for the side and their attitude after they came from behind to beat the league leaders, telling the Spurs website: “When you go a goal down against teams like Chelsea it’s always tough, but it was an important moment in the match when we got our first goal back and then it was good for us to continue in this way by scoring more goals.”
