Martin Kelly, Ryan Babel, Daniel Pacheco, Peter Crouch, Stephen Warnock along with the more illustrious names such as Dietmar Hamann, Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina and Luis Garcia have their say on Gerrard's departure in May.
Gerrard said it was a hard decision to make and as Liverpool begin to plan for life after their talismanic skipper, with plenty saying he is the greatest player to have pulled on a Red shirt.
But plenty of former teammates have taken the opportunity to pay tribute for the 34-year-old for his career with the Reds, and their time playing with him, however long or brief it may have been.
Several of them have said a lot of things about his talents that has led Liverpool to winning trophies during Gerrard's career, others have spoken about the man and the type of person he is like to work with, whilst one particular tweet seems to tug on the heartstrings of some Liverpool fans - which fellow Spaniards Luis Garcia and Pepe Reina tried to outdo with their own tributes.
Here is what a few of them had to say:
Stevie G. The biggest I have seen. Worked with, what a player outside and inside. Biggest spirit I never seen. LEGEND.— Daniel Pacheco (@dani37pacheco) January 2, 2015
