Liverpool start talks with Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri - report

Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool have reportedly started talks with Bayern Munich over the signing of winger Xherdan Shaqiri in the January transfer window.

According to respected Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League outfit have not yet made a bid for the Switzerland international.

Bayern are apparently open to selling the 23-year-old for €15 million, with Italian club Inter Milan also interested in the attacker.

The Serie A outfit want to sign Shaqiri on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy him in the summer.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Shaqiri this month, and they could well make a move before the January transfer window slams shut.

The former FC Basel star has struggled for playing time under Pep Guardiola at Bayern so far this campaign, making just nine appearances in the Bundesliga.

Shaqiri is a truly talented player whose tricks and pace are almost certainly going to make him a success in the Premier League.

If Liverpool get Shaqiri, then they will be making one of the best signings of the season. The Reds’ gain will be Tottenham’s loss.
