After Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Leicester on New Year's Day, it was a case of one step forward and two back for Brendan Rodgers' side.
A 4-1 win against Swansea City saw the Reds produce a fantastic performance, possibly their best of the season. But Swansea were perhaps as bad as Liverpool were good, meaning a Leicester side that came at Rodgers' men at Anfield caused real problems earlier today.
Two fortunate penalties put the home side 2-0 up but it mattered little. The Foxes hit back, making it 2-2 and even having chances to win the game.
Liverpool's display, meanwhile, was flat. There was none of the fluidity exuded against the Swans and Leicester City had it easy at times.
And a key issue Liverpool fans took with the game on Twitter was the performance of Jordan Henderson. Reds fans were not happy with the midfielder's display - but through no fault of his own.
Indeed, Henderson's superb showing against Swansea was widely acknowledged by the Kop. So what had he done to deserve being shunted out wide to right wing-back when his best position is in central midfield? That was an overriding thought after the 2-2 draw with Leicester, something Reds fans feel Rodgers got very wrong...
Changed winning team that performed the best we had in weeks to accommodate Gerrard, Henderson wasted once again out right. Poor from #LFC— Coop (@Stephen_Cooper_) January 1, 2015
No excuse for that at all every single fan knows not to play Gerrard and Lucas together along with Henderson as a RB just disgraceful #LFC— Zain Azhar (@zain_azhar) January 1, 2015
I don't understand why he put Henderson out wide too, is he a winger, no, has he got blistering pace, no. Where's the logic? #LFC— Arun Lannister (@ArunL_23) January 1, 2015
Henderson had a very good game on Monday in CM and he's pushed back onto the wing today. I just don't get it. #LFC— Darren Connolly (@DarrenC25) January 1, 2015
Jordan Henderson is no wing back ineffective when played out of position... #LFC— Dazzler~LFC (@lewi0308) January 1, 2015
Dreadful giving a two goal lead away like that at home to Leicester. No clue why Henderson is wasted on the wing to accommodate Gerrard #lfc— Alan Dubickas (@Doobs87) January 1, 2015
