Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has been singing the praises of Chelsea winger Eden Hazard.
Belgium international Hazard is one of the best players in the Premier League and has been key in the Blues’ successful season so far.
In 19 league appearances, the 23-year-old has scored seven goals and created 47 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 89% and a shot accuracy of 59%.
Hazard is likely to start for Chelsea against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the Premier League today, and Walker is aware of the quality the former Lille star possesses.
“From when I last played him (Hazard) he’s now even more of a tricky opponent,” Tottenham’s official website quotes Walker as saying.
“He’s confident at the moment so I’m going to have to be on my game and try to run him the other way. I need to make him try to defend which he probably doesn’t want to do and hopefully I can pin him back.”
Walker, though, is under no illusion that defeating Chelsea will be easy, but the England international right-back has confidence in his teammates.
“I watched Chelsea against Stoke recently when they won 2-0 and they were very good,” said the former Sheffield United star.
“Defensively they’re fantastic. They’re experienced at the back and are a very good team – it’s going to be difficult.
“However, as I always say, with the lads that we’ve got in the dressing room, why can’t we go out there and take the game to them?
“They’re coming to our ground, they’ll be on our patch so we need to take it to them and show them what we can do.”
Tottenham are currently seventh in the Premier League table with 31 points from 19 matches, while Chelsea are three points clear at the top of the standings.
