'He is a 7 or 8 out of 10 every time,' McGregor hails Scott Brown

Celtic FC Stands 2

The Celtic midfielder very much looks up to his captain.

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor admits skipper Scott Brown is an inspiration to him through his work rate and consistent performances for the Bhoys.

The SPL champions have suffered a dip in form of late but are still top of the league table, as well as in the last 32 of the Europa League and semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.

And McGregor says Brown's ability to produce a 'seven or eight out of ten performance' every game is Celtic's driving force.

“I look at someone like Scott Brown, who has been here for a number of years and who gives you a seven or eight out of ten performance every time he steps on to the pitch," the Celtic star is quoted as saying by the Scotsman.

"That is the reason he is the captain and driving force of our team. You have to learn from guys like him and try to put what you learn from him into your own game.

"His example is excellent and I talk to him a lot. He tries to keep me right as much as he can and is definitely a good player to learn from.”
