The Paraguayan defender has not been in great form in recent weeks.
In an attempt to prevent their recent free-fall Roberto Martinez changed things up slightly for Everton this weekend. He went for three at the back after three defeats on the bounce but it was a change that did not have the desired impact.
Everton were comfortably beaten by Hull at the KC Stadium, leaving Everton fans furious on Twitter and Roberto Martinez under his first real bout of pressure as Everton boss.
The result means that Everton have now lost more games this season then they did in the entire 2013-14 campaign and that a top four place looks a distant hope.
The fans had plenty of names on their list to blame. Gareth Barry was poor again, goalkeeper Joel Robles unconvincing and Arouna Kone struggling up top.
But the criticism once again landed firmly at the door of Antolin Alcaraz. The former Wigan defender has struggled when used this season and the Paraguayan is certainly not a fan favourite at Goodison Park.
His sending off was harsh, but his performance warranted an early bath, and the only positive Everton fans can take from the game is that Alcaraz is now suspended.
Here is some of the best reaction from Twitter...
