Chelsea preparing to send Tomas Kalas on loan to Middlesbrough

Aitor Karanka has made the most of his professional relationship with Jose Mourinho and could be about to bring Tomas Kalas to Middlesbrough from Chelsea.

Chelsea like a loan deal or 20 and they may be about to sanction another.

Tomas Kalas has already been sent out once this season, but has returned to Stamford Bridge from Bundesliga side Cologne.

The Blues brought that agreement to a close after seeing the promising defender struggle for regular game time in Germany.

They will now look closer to home in an effort to get minutes under the belt of a man who made a shock Premier League debut in a crunch clash with Liverpool in April 2014.

Middlesbrough has been a popular destination for Chelsea youngsters in recent times, with Aitor Karanka making the most of his professional ties to Jose Mourinho.

The pair worked together at Real Madrid and have remained in close contact ever since.

Kenneth Omeruo, Jamal Blackman and Patrick Bamford are already at the Riverside Stadium and The Gazette suggests that they are about to be joined by a familiar face.

Queens Park Rangers were said to be keen on taking Kalas at one stage, offering him a top-flight stage on which to perform, but Boro are now believed to be leading the chase.

A deal is expected to be pushed through in the next few days, offering a 21-year-old with one senior cap for Czech Republic to his name an opportunity to aid a promotion push in the Championship.
