There are reports in Italy that combative Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has rejected the possibility of a move to Liverpool.
The 26-year-old is co-owned by Roma and Cagliari and it seems likely that the Eternal City club will have to pay at least £8 million to get the remaining 50 percent of his rights.
Roma would probably see that as a necessary expense because Nainggolan has become an important player in Rudi Garcia's squad after a slightly shaky start to his time at the Stadio Olimpico.
But there are rumours that Liverpool have unsuccessfully attempted to step in.
It is suggested that Nainggolan is hoping Roma will buy out the rest of his rights and will then demand a hefty salary raise, but still not to the level Liverpool could offer.
If Nainggolan has rejected Liverpool it may be because he is settled in Serie A and doesn't want to rock the boat when his performances seem to be going from strength to strength.
