PHOTOS: West Ham's top three moments of 2014; Reid, Sakho & more

Upton Park

2014 has gone from good to brilliant for the Hammers. Here are their top three moments of the calendar year...

Cardiff City 0-2 West Ham United

After a poor run of results at Upton Park, Sam Allardyce was under immense pressure at the start of 2014. And, when a crunch relegation clash with Cardiff City came calling, the West Ham United boss was reportedly one bad defeat away from the sack.

Allardyce responded in style, however, and his charges came away from Wales with a 2-0 win. Neither the boss nor his squad have looked back since...

West Ham United 3-1 Liverpool

This season, West Ham's campaign has told a different story to one of mere survival. Throughout the season, the Hammers have been challenging at the opposite end of the Premier League table.

West Ham currently sit sixth in the standings, only two points off fourth, and have been in the top four for a large chunk of the campaign. One of their most memorable wins came against Liverpool, when Winston Reid and co (above) celebrated a convincing 3-1 victory over the Reds.

West Ham United 2-1 Manchester City

West Ham's most poignant victory, however, came against defending champions Manchester City, when Allardyce's men made Manuel Pellegirni's side look second best at Upton Park.

Diafra Sakho scored a clinical header against Joe Hart to net the second goal of two, as the Hammers put in a stunning performance to take all three points against City.
