Manchester United winger Nani is reportedly closing in on a return from injury.
The Portuguese international is currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon, but he has been side-lined for the last four matches with a hamstring injury.
However, newspaper A Bola reports that the 28-year-old is in contention to feature in Saturday’s match against Estoril.
The report claims Nani is back in training and, barring any setback, will be in what they call “the perfect condition” to help a team who are currently fifth in the Primeira Liga.
Nani has shone since returning to his homeland, scoring seven goals and providing five assists to date, and with Sporting 10 points behind league leaders and current champions Benfica, they have a lot of work to do in the months ahead.
Nani had been tipped to return to United early given his sparkling form, but that has been ruled out by Sporting’s hierarchy and in truth the player would still struggle to get into Louis van Gaal’s starting line-up.
United’s big decision will come in the summer, when they have to decide if Nani has a future at Old Trafford.
