Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Lloris on team improvements, pressure over Berahino

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has revealed his belief that the back four has improved since the start of the season.

Tottenham’s defence has been heavily criticised for some performances earlier in the campaign, such as the 2-1 defeat against Newcastle at White Hart Lane.

“I think we are improving. Defensively, we are stronger than at the beginning of the season. We know what the manager is expecting, what he wants, but we need time,” said the Frenchman.

Liverpool are being widely tipped to make a January move for Tottenham Hotspur target Saido Berahino.

Spurs have been linked with the England under-21 international for a lengthy period of time, playing on his relationship with Spurs forward Harry Kane.

However, the Mirror has branded Liverpool ‘desperate’ as they look for a way to do a deal.

Tottenham youngster Milos Veljkovic has admitted finding long balls difficult to deal with during a game for Middlesbrough.

The Tottenham owned defender has described the way Blackburn played in the recent Championship encounter between the two teams as ‘difficult’.

“We could maybe have controlled the ball better, but it was difficult with the way they played, long balls and second balls,” he said.
