With speculation over the futures of Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches, it would be little surprise to see Tottenham target a new centre back in January.
Espanyol's Hector Moreno and Napoli's Raul Albiol have been linked with moves to White Hart Lane so far, whilst the agent of Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour confirmed there is interest from Mauricio Pochettino's men.
Abdennour, 25, is a big, strong Tunisian centre back who made his name with Toulouse before joining Ligue 1 rivals Monaco back in January 2014.
Having continued to impress with Monaco, he was bound to receive admiring glances, and last week his agent revealed interest from Tottenham as well as North London rivals Arsenal.
However, Abdennour has told French press that not only is he happy at the Stade Louis II, but he wants to succeed there for some time yet, citing the influence of Jeremy Toulalan, Dimitar Berbatov and Ricardo Carvalho.
"Honestly, I like the atmosphere of this group. We sometimes have lunch or dinner together. We're like a family. Older players like Toulalan, Berbatov, Carvalho talk, give advice, but the youth are not behind either. Each brings his qualities," he said.
"I am happy to have come to Monaco, I want to succeed here. And I have to honor the club trusting me," added Abdennour.
