Arsenal morning news: Two targets emerge as January transfer window closes in

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

The Telegraph claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is eyeing a move for Saint-Etienne defender Loic Perrin.

It has been suggested that the Gunners need to add a central defender to their squad this January.

Wenger’s knowledge of the French transfer market is something he’s used well since he took over at the club.

Arsenal are being tipped to close in on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

The Gunners have been frequently linked with the PSG hit man, who has been widely tipped for a move to the Premier League.

Reports cite his recent exclusion from a PSG squad as a main reason for Arsenal to push ahead with a move.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has sent out a warning to Arsenal and Manchester United over the top four.

The England international grabbed a brace as the Reds secured a rare big win against Swansea City last night.

“Possibly how well Liverpool did, the expectation came as a bit of a shock to a lot of the new signings. But we are bedding in with time. There is more gelling coming as a team. Our target is top four,” he said.
