A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United…
Reported Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has hinted that his future could be away from Roma, although he has made it clear that he does not see the Italian club merely as a stepping stone for bigger and better things.
In an interview with Voetbal International the Netherlands international said, “I don’t see Roma as totally an intermediate step, but I think a player who performs well here will earn a reputation at the top level quicker.”
He certainly has that, with many believing he is one of the best midfielders of his type in Europe and the perfect addition to United’s squad if they can get him.
In other news, the Daily Star reports that Everton right-back Seamus Coleman is a primary target for United manager Louis van Gaal, who is said to see him as a great option regardless of the formation he plays.
The player is rated at £25million but Everton have shown in the past they are not willing to sell their best players unless it is on their terms.
