Everton suffered more Premier League misery as their stretch outside the top 10 continues.
They were defeated 3-2 by a previously out of form Newcastle United, despite striker Arouna Kone scoring his long awaited first ever Premier League goal for the club.
One player who will not remember the game fondly is winger Aiden McGeady who gave the ball away to lead to a Newcastle goal, and was largely ineffective.
The winger has contributed one goal and one assist in 12 Premier League matches since signing, and the former Celtic star is struggling for form.
His 77 per cent pass completion rate was the lowest in the Everton team in Sunday's defeat, and his one shot landed off target.
It was little surprise when he was substituted after an hour for Kevin Mirallas, having made only 23 touches in 60 minutes.
The reaction from Everton fans to his performance was cutting, with one supporter writing on Twitter he never wanted to see the 28-year-old Irishman play for the club again.
Here's a look at what they had to say, with Everton now 12th in the table...
Barry and McGeady should be ashamed. 'Experienced' players who bottled every challenge and consistently gave away possession #efc— Sean Williamson (@seanowilliamson) December 28, 2014
Don't like to get on any players case but McGeady is awful #EFC— Richy Wood ⚽ⓔⓕⓒ⚽™ (@limpstoner_F1) December 28, 2014
Surely there is a circus somewhere who would take McGeady off our hands? #efc— Russell Jones (@caehoward) December 28, 2014
McGeady was that lad at school that did stepovers during the lunchtime kick about #EFC— David Ryan (@TheDavidRyan) December 28, 2014
