Reports in Italy suggest that Burnley have made an approach for AC Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that an initial bid has been knocked back, with Parma also keen on the 30-year-old frontman.
Serie A outfit Milan are said to be reluctant to let Pazzini leave as they endeavour to bolster their attacking options, rather than deplete them.
Burnley’s interest will, however, reignite talk of a possible January exit for Danny Ings.
He has been linked with the likes of Newcastle United, Sunderland and Ajax as a result.
Leicester City are also said to be keen on the England U21 international, with the struggling Foxes short on firewpower.
Ings is due to be out of contract next summer and Burnley may be tempted to cash in when the window re-opens in an effort to avoid losing the 22-year-old for nothing at the end of the season.
