The Cruzeiro midfielder has plenty of options going forward.
Manchester United are believed to be just one of many teams interested in the talented Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva of Brazilian champions Cruzeiro.
But United are not the only Premier League team to be linked with his signature. League rivals Arsenal are also said to be keen on the player who has been publicly valued at around €15 million by his club.
However Real Madrid also like the look of Silva. Unfortunately for Arsenal and United Silva has also made it clear that Real would be his ideal location.
But Real are said to be adamant about not paying the €15 million asking price for a player that is not yet tried and tested on the continent. That saw Cruzeiro accuse Real of a lack of respect earlier in the week and negotiations between the two sides appears to have come to a cross-roads.
Good news for Arsenal and United, right?
Not really, as it seems Silva is willing to wait for his Real Madrid move. He told Globoesporte:
"There has been a lot of rumours and speculation regarding a possible move to Real Madrid. The winter transfer window is not open in Europe until January but when the market opens, anything can happen.
"When I say that the European transfer market is not open, I am referring to the speculation. A lot of stories are coming out in the press and I am getting a lot of questions about Real Madrid. All I can say is there is nothing that is decided. I am a Cruzeiro player, I had a good season last year and anything might happen at a later date. I have my own objectives and challenges as well. It would be a dream and a step forward in my career."
It seems like as soon as Real Madrid cough up his asking price, Silva will be on the first plane to Madrid. The same can't be said about Arsenal and Manchester United.
