Leeds United's Billy Sharp will regret his reaction at being substituted claims Billy Sharp.
Billy Sharp will regret his decision to react negatively to his substitution against Wigan, claims Robbie Blake.
The Leeds United striker kicked over a water bottle and walked straight to the dressing room after being taken off with the side 1-0 down with 15 minutes remaining.
Leeds went onto lose 2-0, slumping to 20th in the Championship table with the surprise Boxing Day defeat.
Blake, a former Leeds forward, gave a mixed reaction to Radio Yorkshire regarding Sharp's walk-off.
He said: "You want to see it because it shows he cares. I've done it before in the heat of the moment you don't want to shake the manager's hand, but kicking bottles and walking down the tunnel, he will regret that I think when he settles down.
"It happens, but it goes to show that he cares, that's what Leeds United supporters want."
He did go onto add, however that he wished Leeds had kept him on as they chased the game.
"I agree with him that he started the second half well. When you need a goal, Billy is one of the players who can get you a goal."
Head coach Neil Redfearn said after the game he forgave his striker, happy to see some passion from him, but felt his decision to bring on Souleymane Doukara was well-intentioned, even though it did not pan out with success on the day.
