The 22-year-old has been in poor form recently, despite a sparkling start to the SPL campaign.
So John Guidetti's bubble has firmly been burst.
The Celtic ace is no doubt a quality striker - but recent performances have been well below par.
Is that, however, a result of his own efforts or Ronny Deila's mismanagement?
"He is struggling at the moment, you can see that," Deila told reporters after his side's 0-0 draw with Ross County yesterday. "The only people who can do something about that is us so we have to work hard in training every day and see what we can do to get it going.
"We know that he can score goals, he has done it before. He hasn't become a bad player in a month. It is just small details that we are going to have to turn around.
"He will come back. My challenge, and his as well, will be to get that back as quickly as possible."
Is the Celtic boss really capable of getting Guidetti firing again, though?
The on-loan Manchester City forward has been in need of a rest for some time. Not to punish him but to encourage an upturn in form upon his return.
Deila got that wrong and the issue of working with Guidetti on the training ground is an intriguing one. At the moment, Celtic's lethargy going forward suggests the Norwegian is the last man you want a young striker working with.
The Manchester City loanee is most certainly in need of a rest. Will there, though, be the recovery he needs under Deila to get him back to form?
