All the latest news and gossip from Stamford Bridge this morning.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has been talking about the club's good form today to the official Chelsea website.

The Spaniard, who is now a regular in the team at left-back, believes that Chelsea are playing the best football since he first arrived in London from Marseille in 2012.

He said:

"This team is growing. The whole team is doing the defensive work, working really well and then we have a lot of creative attacking players that can make the difference.

"We are playing the best football since I arrived; we are enjoying our time on the pitch a lot. The new signings that came this year have adapted very quickly and this helps the whole team.

"We are developing our game and trying to improve in every game. Everyone feels confident and at the end we have been winning which is the main thing in football. We are in a good position..."

Jamie Redknapp, the former Liverpool midfielder turned football pundit, has been heaping praise on a Chelsea player this week - namely Nemanja Matic.

The Serbian has been superb for Chelsea since returning to the club in a £21 million move from Benfica. And Redknapp has clearly been impressed:

“I remember playing against Makelele and thinking he is the best defensive midfielder I have ever seen, but if Matic keeps it up in the form he is in, then he could surpass him.

“This guy has a cultured left foot, always has his head up and plays like he has time on the ball. He is a much better player than people give him credit for, he’s not just a shield, it’s what he does when he has the ball. He doesn’t mess around on the ball or showboat, he just does his thing simply.”

Finally, and in case you didn't know, Fernando Torres is no longer any of the club's concern. He has been sold to AC Milan, with the deal becoming official on January 5th.

He is then expected to join Atletico Madrid on loan, with Alessio Cerci going in the other direction.
