Celtic's Kieran Tierney has suffered a broken leg.

Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney has suffered a broken leg and is likely to miss the remainder of the season.

The 17-year-old recently travelled with the first team for their Europa League clash with Dinamo Zagreb, and was on the bench for their SPL clash with Ross County on Saturday.

On the cusp of making the breakthrough, Tierney's injury is an unwelcome setback at a crucial time in his career, but it's likely to be only a temporary setback.

The defender is an outstanding prospect who hit the headlines earlier this season when he scored from his own penalty area in an under-21 game.

He responded on Twitter to thank fans for their messages of support and kind wishes, while the news was also reported by the VideoCelts blog.

He also retweeted a photo of himself with his leg in a cast. The incident is believed to have happened in a training session.

Tierney also responded to HITC's message of support, as he adjusts to the injury.
