Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea has picked up wide acclaim for his sensational performances this season.
The shot stopper has helped Manchester United up to third in the Premier League table, but faces a tricky test when the Red Devils travel to Tottenham this weekend.
He goes up against another top goalkeeper in the league, French international Hugo Lloris.
|Clean Sheet||Saves||Good High Claim||Accurate Goal Kicks||Appearances|
|David de Gea||5||53||12||74||18|
De Gea has one more clean sheet than Lloris, but it is the Tottenham star who ranks above him in three key categories.
Lloris has made three more saves this season than his rival, and has claimed nine more crosses. He has also made 15 more accurate goal kicks.
The former Lyon star is performing at a high level, and barring one poor display away to Chelsea, has been Tottenham's most consistent player once again this season.
De Gea has been described by teammate Wayne Rooney as the best goalkeeper in the world, but Lloris' displays suggest he is worthy of being held in similar regard to the Spaniard as being a player who is genuinely world class.
