The Blues eased to a 2-0 win against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day to maintain their three-point lead at the top of the league table.
The win was Chelsea’s fifth in a row in all competitions, and Jose Mourinho’s side will be favourites to pick up all three points at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.
It will not be easy, though, as Southampton seem to have regained their form and are back to their best.
Ronald Koeman’s side returned to winning ways last weekend when they eased past Everton 3-0 at home, and built on it by defeating Crystal Palace 3-1 in London on Boxing Day.
Southampton are back up to fourth in the Premier League table with 32 points from 18 matches, just three points behind third-placed Manchester United.
