The Chelsea captain scored his side's opener against Sam Allardyce's men during what would ultimately end a 2-0 win for Jose Mourinho's side.
And Terry's goal was greeted with a less-than-pleased response from the West Ham fans sitting in the away end.
The Chelsea skipper later responded to the incident on social media with a humorous reaction...
"Boom. Delighted with the 3 points today and to be on the scoresheet again. West Ham fans were wishing me Happy Christmas in the pic," Terry wrote on Instagram during his reply.
"Merry Christmas to you all I hope you have all had a wonderful day."
Chelsea had the last laugh in west London, of course, but the Hammers still have the chance to end 2014 with a bang when they host Arsenal later today.
West Ham fans will no doubt hope Allardyce starts - rather than saves - his best players on this occasion, perhaps wiping the Terry's smugness out of their memories for the time being!
