Manchester United are playing a very attacking formation at the moment.
Manchester United picked up yet another win yesterday, defeating Newcastle United 3-1 with an excellent attacking performance.
The team are always going to be a massive threat going forward, especially with the quartet of attacking talent they play.
Yesterday United started Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie in attack. All four linked up on several occasions, with Mata, Falcao and Rooney all linking up for the first two goals and Rooney playing a delicious chipped ball into the path of Van Persie, who headed beyond Jak Alnwick.
One man who certainly appreciates the performances of the attacking foursome is Michael Carrick. The return of Carrick has seemed to spark United into their recent form. But he was discussing the attacking force of Manchester United yesterday, waxing lyrical about the four stars:
"That’s four world-class players you’re talking about there. Going in to a game with those lads in your team gives us a real threat and a lot of confidence, knowing we can create chances and score goals.
"It clicked together nicely [against Newcastle] and hopefully in the weeks coming up we’ll see something similar. We had good possession, created some chances and looked dangerous. They started early on the counter-attack and that was something we had to be careful of. I thought we dominated the game and won it well in the end."
