Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has revealed how Olivier Giroud dealt with his red card against QPR immediately after the game.
The Frenchman was dismissed in the first half in the 2-1 win at The Emirates, and was publicly criticised by boss Arsene Wenger in his post-game press conference.
Debuchy told Arsenal.com: "He did not speak in the dressing room. It is a hard moment for him.
"I know that from before when I was at Newcastle. I was sent off, so have been in the same moment.
"It is difficult, but we are professionals and we need to keep calm. Everybody has a temper, so it is not always easy to stay calm, but we need to keep calm."
Debuchy and Giroud are close off the pitch, and it's unlikely even he had to remind Giroud of his mistake.
His quiet reflection and non-verbal communication suggests he knew exactly what a huge mistake he had made, and the big cost of not being able to play in the club's next three matches.
It was an uncharacteristic mistake from the striker, but a naive one which he can ill-afford to repeat, and could see him become a target for defenders to wind up even more in the future, knowing he can be made to crack.
