Chelsea want Juventus’ £24 million Kwadwo Asamoah - report

The Blues are supposedly ready to launch a bid for the Ghana international next month to add strength in depth to their squad.

Chelsea are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, with Jose Mourinho’s men still having a momentous quadruple on the cards this season.

The West London club’s summer recruitment policy has added key players to the side’s title charge and as such major transfer business in the January transfer window is unlikely.

However, a report today is suggesting that the Blues could well make a move for versatile Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah.

GhanaSoccerNews claim that Chelsea are readying a £24 million move for the African next month.

Asamoah has the ability to play either as a holding midfielder or as a left-back, where he has most frequently been deployed by the Italian champions in recent times.

Although Asamoah is a seasoned campaigner with experience in the Champions League and at the World Cup, the likelihood is that he would only be a fringe player if he did move to Stamford Bridge.

As such, and with Chelsea having the likes of Filipe Luis and John Obi Mikel to cover the respective positions that Asamoah plays, this transfer seems highly unlikely.
