Celtic player ratings: Guidetti's poor form continues, Johansen & Bitton ineffective

Celtic FC Stands 1

The Bhoys were in poor form during their 0-0 draw with Ross County on Saturday afternoon. Here's how the Celtic players rated...

Craig Gordon - 7/10

A sleepy spectator for the most part, the Celtic 'keeper was actually forced into the save of the match late on, tipping a shot onto his near post. That summed up the Hoops' wastefulness as Ross County bettered their entire attacking performance in a split second.

Emilio Izaguirre - 6/10

His side's best player in the first half in terms of creating the play and moving forward - and there is an argument to suggest that better movement from the forwards would justify his deliveries into the box. Has, however, received plenty of criticism from his wastefulness in terms of his crosses. A big problem for Celtic today was just going too wide too often, with nothing coming down the middle.

Efe Ambrose - 5/10

Had very little to do but still managed to give the ball away more than once.

Virgil van Dijk - 6/10

Rather confusingly, was voted Celtic's man of the match by sponsors, although he did look good going forward - often his side's biggest threat on the ball. That said more for the poor quality of the Bhoys' attack, though.

Adam Matthews - 6/10

Looked shaky defensively and made very little impact overall. His crossing was better than Izaguirre's, however.

Nir Bitton - 6/10

Made a couple of first-half interceptions but, apart form that, did very little at all against Ross County.

Scott Brown - 7/10

Celtic's playmaker, the skipper received very little joy but mainly through a lack of quality from his team-mates. Looked visibly frustrated by what he had to put up with but gave 100 per cent nevertheless.

Anthony Stokes - injured after five minutes

A big blow for this Celtic side today?

Callum McGregor - 6/10

Another wasteful presence for the Hoops after replacing the injured Stokes but did hit the bar in Celtic's best moment of the game, with the rebound falling to a hapless John Guidetti.

Leigh Griffiths - 6/10

Looked as though he could have been dangerous and threatened with some long shots but was played far too deep. With Guidetti out of form, Griffiths should have played up front not in the middle of the supporting three.

Stefan Johansen - 5/10

Embodied what was wrong with Celtic today in that he was too predictable and far too willing to take the ball out wide only to do nothing with it. Ineffective.

John Guidetti - 4.5/10

Had Ronny Deila's men had a striker up front that could have got himself into the right positions, they might have actually scored against Ross County. It was a shocking attacking display and Guidetti was the biggest culprit when it came to being wasteful. Even when he had an open goal gaping, he wasn't alert enough to direct his header on target.

Substitutes

Kris Commons - 6/10

The 31-year-old might have made more of a difference had he started and didn't have too much time to get involved. He did offer a good delivery from set-pieces, though. But, naturally, that went to waste with Celtic today.

Stefan Scepovic - 6/10

Similarly, Scepovic was anonymous and may deserve more game time to show what he can do over the under-performing Guidetti or at least within a change of Celtic system.
